Luxury at Sea, The Atlas Project
There is a distinct magic that occurs when the clean, unyielding lines of modern maritime architecture meet the fluid, unpredictable textures of the natural world.
With The Atlas Project, Bloom Society was commissioned to redefine the outdoor living space of an elite super yacht chartered in the Mediterranean. The brief was simple yet daring: create a dramatic, gravity-defying focal point that honors the vast open horizon while transforming a minimalist deck into an intimate, luxurious sanctuary.
The result is a monumental, suspended living sculpture that floats seamlessly beneath the vessel’s sleek white canopy. There is a distinct magic that occurs when the clean, unyielding lines of modern maritime architecture meet the fluid, unpredictable textures of the natural world.

Embracing the Medium: A Study in Texture and Form
Designing for an open-air marine environment requires a masterclass in structural integrity and material selection. Standard floral arrangements yield to the elements; instead, we looked to enduring, resilient flora that thrives aesthetically under the brilliant Mediterranean sun.
Suspended above a pristine expanse of warm teak decking and ivory linen lounge seating, we composed a lush, asymmetrical cloud of curated greenery. The palette is intentionally grounded in desaturated, sophisticated tones:
Cascading Verbiage: Lengthy, dramatic tendrils of pale green hanging Amaranthus drape downwards, mimicking the soft movement of waterfalls and breaking up the hard geometric lines of the yacht's architecture.
Silvery Foliage: Dense bundles of eucalyptus and wild Mediterranean olive branches introduce a soft, shimmering texture that shifts beautifully as the sea breeze passes through.
Earthy Geometry: Large, gnarled, sculptural seed pods and dried organic elements are nestled deep within the green canopy, anchoring the piece with an unexpected, wabi-sabi weight.
"We wanted the installation to feel less like decoration and more like a natural extension of the landscape—as if a piece of a hidden Mediterranean cliffside had gracefully drifted onto the deck."
Redefining Exceptional Spaces
A super yacht deck is inherently a space of transition—constantly moving between horizons. By introducing this permanent organic composition, the aft deck is instantly anchored. It becomes a static, grounding masterpiece against a constantly moving backdrop of blue sea and sky.
As twilight approaches and the yacht’s recessed lighting glows beneath the canopy, the installation casts intricate, dancing shadows across the minimal cream cushions and raw stone planters below. It proves that luxury isn’t about cluttering a space; it’s about introducing one singularly breathtaking, nature-led element that commands the room.
The Atlas Project represents a new frontier for Bloom Society—proving that exceptional floral sculpture knows no boundaries, even on the open ocean.
